There were several former Los Angeles Chargers players in the running for a spot in the Super Bowl during Sunday’s title games.
By far the most notable, however, was Washington commanders running back Austin Ekeler.
Unfortunately for Ekeler, one of his plays created an uproar of Deja Vu among Chargers fans that quickly became viral.
During the Commanders’ 55-23 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles, Ekeler lost a fumble late in the game. His team was then down 11 points, but had just forced a point, and there was an opportunity for the commanders to get closer. Instead, it felt like a turning point and the Eagles went up by three scores.

Make no mistake, Eekeler seemed to play a major role in the mass culture and commanders’ turnaround this season. He was helped by former Chargers head coach Anthony Lynn, the coach of Washington’s Running Backs.
But as you can see from the responses, loaders were faithfully all too familiar with the critical trash from Eekeler and others that have remained as memories over the years.

I guess the good thing about the Chargers never going on a deep playoff run with Austin Ekeler is that we’ve never seen one in a conference championship game

Austin Ekeler is proof that you can leave the Chargers, but the Chargers won’t leave you

You can take the man out of the Chargers, but you can’t take the Chargers out of the man Austin Ekeler
